Malama Honua Event

On a bright Wednesday morning Glenbrae School went to Pt. England Beach to see the Hourua Hokule’a and Hikianalia Wakas that had come from Hawaii.

When we got there we all sat down until the crew came out of the Waka. Then  we sang a waiata called E oho.
After that  we welcomed them with a Haka. There were over 2000 kids there. A crew from the Waka blew a conch 5 times.

Next we sang  E Honore. Then we sat down and listened to speeches from the kaumatua and the people from the wakas.
Lastly ,we went to the beach and did a high five with the Hawaiian people who had come from the Waka and it was a lot of fun.

Then we walked back to school feeling hungry and tired.
