Butterfly Creek
WALT: I am learning to write a Recount
On Monday the 9th of March, rooms 9 and 10 went to Butterfly Creek to learn about Dinosaurs. We went there by a big white bus.
When we arrived at the venue, Sunita our guide took us inside the Dinosaur kingdom to study dinosaurs and then into a room where Paul spoke to us about dinosaurs. He showed us a dinosaur skull, teeth and poo. We talked about different kinds of dinosaur and about the biggest shark.
We then went to the fish room. I saw a clown fish and a glowing fish in the water. The fish were so tiny that most of us Glenbrae students couldn't even see the tiny fish in the water.
Eventually we went into the butterfly room and we saw turtles, butterflies, fish, eels and little cute monkeys. Mostly the butterflies kept landing on Miss Maruariki because she had a nice pink t-shirt on. Then we went to watch the crocodile show. The crocodile was from Australia, it was massive and its name is Scar.
Later that day, we went for a ride around Butterfly Creek by a slow train. From the train we saw more dinosaurs, pigs, chickens. After the ride we went to the farm and saw different animals such as rabbits, a dog, goats and even a parrot that says “HELLO”. The white bunny sitting on the bench was so chubby and so so so so white. I fell in love with it and stroked it. Finally we got to see the Tarantula And everyone was a little scared.
After lunch it was time to go back to school.
I felt happy and excited because we saw the dinosaurs, other animals, tropical butterflies, the fish, the tarantula, and also the crocodile Scar.
I hope to go again to see more animals and learn about them.
