Science Intensive

Today we had Science in room 8. Our topic was water pollution, first Miss Stone took us for fitness then we came back and did a water pollution activity and a game also. Then after morning- tea we did art. We finished art and went swimming until lunch.

Today I learnt that dropping rubbish in the drain can effect people and animals around the world. We also checked our school drain and I felt sad because is was dirty and can pollute the water. The rubbish outside was dirtier than our class.

Moana presentation

I have been learning how to code using hour of code. The skills that i have learnt include using the move forward,block,repeat, and fish.

I have shared my moana presentation in my Eportfolio, to showcase my work.

I have also shared my moana presentation in year 8 class community, as a rewindable learning .

Water Pollution

The water gets polluted cause the waste and rubbish that people chuck in the drain and the sea. In Antarctica the water is polluted and a small island called Tuvalu is drowning because of the water pollution in Antarctica. Water pollution can affect those sea animals in the sea, also there are many sea animals on youtube that ate rubbish from us humans that throw our rubbish in the sea.

Technology ePortfolios

In technology we would be trialling the use for ePortfolios. The ePortfolios will be used to visually showcase the work we do in technology. We will use our ePortfolios in each technology subject. We will use our blogs to reflect on our learning. We will also use the class blog Year 8 digitech blog to collaborate on different learning activity's.These are the different ways in which we will share what we learn.

Trip To Tauranga

3 weeks ago my Family and I drove to Papamoa, which is the largest suburb in Tauranga and we went there so we could celebrate Christmas there. So when it was Christmas day my cousins woke up and straight ran under the Christmas tree with there excited faces. Our parents were laughing because my cousins were so aggressive opening their presents. We also stayed there for New Year's and for New Years we went to a nice Chinese Restaurant called Kwang Chow at Mount Maunganui and they had very delicious food. When we got home we finished our New Years with a movie called Moana. Then we were all fast asleep.

Omana Beach

On Saturday morning my family and cousins gathered at the beach and started talking and the kids started playing. Soon we wanted to swim so we got our togs on and ran down to the beach and swam. The most things we saw were bikes, there were a lot of bikes riding by.
